Vaccines: Macron says France reaches over 40 mn first doses

About 60% of population. 'Together we will beat the virus'

    French President Emmanuel Macron said over 40 million people in France have received their first dose of Covid vaccine, in a tweet on Monday.
    Macron said this represents about 60% of the population, up four million people in 15 days.
    "Together we will beat the virus. Let's keep going!" Macron said.
    On Sunday night the French Parliament approved the controversial bill to extend the health pass and to require health workers to get vaccinated.
    Senators and MPs in the mixed committee finally reached a compromise after a week of high-intensity debate between the National Assembly and the Senate.
