PARIS - The QR code on French President Emmanuel Macron's health pass (France's version of the Covid green pass) was pirated and posted on various social media platforms, with his first and last name and birthdate visible.

Elysee Palace confirmed to Europe 1 radio that the document was authentic.

A few days ago the same thing happened to French Prime Minister Jean Castex, as well as thousands of French citizens.

Macron's QR code, which is legible by any person who works in public health, also specifies the type of vaccine administered, which is Pfizer.

There is however, a discrepancy on the date of inoculation, which is shown as 13 July 2021, although the president's office had previously told the press that Macron was vaccinated on 31 May.

Elysee Palace said the discrepancy is due to an "error" in the data transmission.

Macron, who became infected with Covid in December, was vaccinated with only one dose.
