(ANSAmed) - MADRID, MAY 13 - The corpse of an adult man
was found on Friday morning by rescuers onboard a dinghy used by
migrants and sighted south of the Gran Canaria island, ANSA was
told by the spokesman of Spain's maritime rescue service.
The same vessel had been carrying 14 other people, who were rescued over the night and taken to Gran Canaria.
The source was not able to clarify whether other people had also been onboard the vessel prior to the rescue.
Since Thursday afternoon. about 200 migrants have disembarked on the coasts of the Canary Islands, according to the local emergency services.
Over the past week, at least two disasters occurred on this migration route between the African coasts and those of the Spanish archipelago, with over 70 people either dead or missing.
