The Tunisian Cycling Tour, 9th edition: 4 legs and 605 km

    (ANSAmed) - TUNISI, 23 SET - Four legs for a total of 605 km, starting on 28 September until 1 October, for 40 runners coming from 8 different countries: this is what the Tunisian cycling tour will cover, now running in its ninth edition, as announced at the press conference in Tunis by the president of the organizing committee, Mounir Khemissi.

    The legs, explained Khemissi, will be: 1) from Tunis to Kef (175 km); from Kef to Kasserine (130); Gabes-Matmata-Gabes (130 km) and from Gabes to Jerba (170 km). The countries who have already confirmed their participation are: Tunisia, Algeria, Libya, the Sultanate of Oman, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Canada and France.

    The marathon will run under the patronage of the Tunisian Cycling Federation and of the International Cycling Federation.

    Concerning the budget for the event, Khemissi stated that each leg of the Tunisian tour will cost between 20 to 30 thousand Tunisian dinars (between 6,343.50 euro and 9,521.84 euro). He thanks the Tunisian Central Pharmacy for its support, its headquarters will be where the tour will start. On his part, the president of the Tunisian Cycling Federation, Nawef Marchaoui, denounced the lack of means to organize the event as these set backs limit Tunisian participation. (ANSAmed).
