'IS violates Islamic principles', says Egypt's Grand Mufti

Calls on all Arabs to take action against group

    (ANSAmed) - CAIRO, AUGUST 12 - The Grand Mufti of Egypt, Shawki Allam, has said that Islamic State (IS) fighters ''violate all the principles of Islam'', warning that the group is a danger to Islam and Muslims across the world. Reports were from the MENA news agency, which added that the Grand Mufti called on all Arabs to take action against this danger.

    IS, formerly known as Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS)) has taken control of large swathes of Iraq and Syria. (ANSAmed).
