    (ANSAmed) - PARIS, AUGUST 28 - French President Francois Hollande on Thursday told an audience of ambassadors gathered in Paris that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad "cannot be a partner in the fight against terrorism" in Syria and Iraq, where Islamic State jihadists control various regions. "A broad alliance is needed, but things must be clear: Bashar al-Assad cannot be a partner in the fight against terrorism, as he is the objective ally of jihadists". (ANSAmed).
