Kuwait: UN to honor Emir Al Sabah as 'humanitarian leader'

    (ANSAmed) - Rome, september 9 - United Nations Secretary General holds a major celebration at the UN headquarters in New York later on Tuesday, honoring the emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as 'Humanitarian Leader' and the State of Kuwait as 'Humanitarian Center'.

    According to a press release, Deputy Emir and Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah said in a speech that "this great international achievement is an honorable recognition and a historic testament for our beloved Kuwait and our wise leader, as well as the Kuwaiti people," adding that the honoring is also a source of pride for every Arab and Muslim.

    The Deputy Emir carried on saying that honoring of the Emir is not driven only by his donations or financial contributions but rather by his relentless humanitarian efforts, initiatives and moves. "His Highness's relentless hard work, political initiatives and diplomatic efforts on all levels have majorly contributed to mending gaps and reaching conciliations", he added. (ANSAmed).
