(ANSAmed) - TEL AVIV - American Secretary of State, John Kerry, asked Palestinians to postpone the presentation of the United Nations Resolution for the recognition of Palestine until November and therefore after US elections, according to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, cited by the Palestinian press.

"I don't intend to argue with Washington or any other international party but the Palestinian leadership is adamant that it must present its case to the Security Council" said Mahmoud Abbas who also assured Kerry that the conflict in Gaza would not resume.

Palestinian authorities intend to submit the Resolution on the Recognition of the Palestinian state to the United Nations by the end of October, despite the fact the United States asked them to postpone the bid, Abed Rabbo, PLO executive committee secretary, told the press in Ramallah.

"There is no excuse for a delay" stated Rabbo adding that he hoped the US would not use its veto power in the Security Council.(ANSAmed).
