(ANSAmed) - CAIRO-BRUSSELS, AUGUST 18 - The Arab League on Tuesday called for an Arab strategy ensuring military aid to Libya against ISIS, in its final declaration following an emergency meeting.

In the document, the Arab League expressed full support for the continuation of negotiations led by Bernardino Leon, and asks the parties to find an agreement for the formation of a national unity government as soon as possible.

The release stated that negligence in dealing with ISIS terrorism in Libya is a threat for neighboring countries and for international security and peace. For this it is urging Arab states - together or each on its own - to apply the UN resolution asking the countries to aid Libya against terrorism and help it to restore security.

The document also appeals to the international community to support Libya in dealing with the massacre committed by ISIS in Sirte, and to put a global plan in place to fight terrorism.(ANSAmed).
