(ANSAmed) - MADRID, SEPTEMBER 10 - The Senate in Madrid has adopted, with 145 votes of approval and 89 contrary ones, a reform restricting the provisions of the abortion law introduced by Socialist premier José Luis Zapatero in 2010.

Parent consent will now be mandatory for minors between 16 and 18 years of age.

The change was voted with the votes of premier Mariano Rajoy's Partido Popular which holds the absolute majority - while the opposition voted against it.

The PP government renounced other changes to the Zapatero law, allowing for terminiations without restriction up to the 14th week of pregnancy.
