Turkey: only four women elected mayor in 81 cities

Two with Kurdish party, others with Erdogan's Akp and Chp

    (ANSAmed) - ISTANBUL, APRIL 1 - Only four women have been elected in 81 provincial capitals in Turkey in administrative elections held Sunday. They are ex-minister Fatma Sahin of the Akp party of president Recep Tayyip Erdogan, which was elected for another mandate in Gaziantep, Ozlem Cercioglu of the social Democratic Chp in Aydin, and two mayors of the pro-Kurdish Hdp, Media Ozgokce Ertan and Berivan Helen Isik, who were respectively elected in Van and Siirt in the south-east.
