Cyprus: UN condemns 'unilateral actions' by Erdogan

23 July, 17:00

(ANSAmed) - WASHINGTON, 23 LUG - The UN Security Council unanimously approved a statement in which it condemns the position and "unilateral actions" of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Cyprus, such as the reopening of the village of Varosha, which was abandoned 50 years ago after Greek residents fled.

The statement contains a renewed appeal for a resolution of the Cypriot question "based on a federation between the two parts of the country".

Erdogan's position had already been condemned in recent days by Europe and the United States. (ANSAmed).
