(ANSAmed) - ROMA, 21 GEN - The French Constitutional Council
validated the essential content of the bill establishing a
vaccine pass, the French equivalent of what in Italy is known as
the "super green pass".
Left-wing MPs with La France Insoumise and about 60 left-wing senators had called on the Council for a ruling.
Prime Minister Jean Castex announced Thursday evening that the new vaccine pass will come into effect starting Monday.
The Constitutional Council ruled that bar and restaurant managers have the right to verify customer identity for public "health protection" reasons.
They rejected, however, the possibility for organisers of political rallies, which are destined to multiply in the coming weeks in view of the presidential elections in April, to require participants show a green pass.
Despite this, organisers will be allowed to adopt "all useful health precaution measures, such as limiting the number of participants, distributing masks or ventilating the premises".
