(ANSAmed) - ROME, 01 LUG - Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto has said that an accord with Ankara on Turkish support for the country's NATO bid only concerns details included in a memorandum of agreement and does not list people for extradition, Finalnd's newspaper Helsingin Sanomat reported on Friday, quoting statements made by the foreign minister during a press conference with Polish counterpart Zbigniew Rau.

Haavisto said he spoke with the Turkish foreign minister and that the two countries agreed on all points recorded in the agreement.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Thursday asked Sweden and Finland to hand over "terrorists" claimed by the country and made a series of other requests in exchange for Ankara's support for the countries' bid to join the Alliance.

According to Erdogan, Turkey will block the ratification, or approval, of Finland's adhesion to NATO by Parliament if its requests are not be satisfied. According to Haavisto, neither people nor lists of extradition were discussed in Madrid. "And there is nothing similar in the document", noted Haavisto.
