(ANSAmed) - ISTANBUL, 01 LUG - Turkish President Recep Tayyip
Erdogan was quoted by Anadolu news agency as saying Friday that
"we don't intend to declare war against Greece". However, he
added "Greece doesn't keep its promises", speaking with
journalists after Friday prayers at a mosque in Istanbul,
accusing Athens of violating Turkish airspace 147 times.
Erdogan recently attacked Greece harshly, accusing it of violating international treaties by arming Greek Aegean islands near the Turkish coast. During a NATO summit in Madrid, Erdogan reportedly refused meetings with Greek representatives.
