Meeting with premier after vote in favor of new Constitution

    TUNIS - After having celebrated the referendum's vote in favor of the new Constitution, President Kais Saied, received the head of the government, Najla Bouden, at the palace in Carthage, to discuss the organization of the up-coming Parliamentary elections and of those of the Regional Assembly and territories, a change introduced by the new Constitutional text. The office of the Tunisian presidency communicated in a note that the election organization, according to Saied, requires the preparation of a special electoral law, hence the need to issue a special decree.

    Saied has reminded the premier even on the need of a decree for the creation of a Constitutional Court, in conformity with the dispositions of the new Constitution. With reference to the criticism of the referendum results, the President of the Electoral Commission, Farouk Bouasker, has declared on national television that "anyone who questions the results should voice its complaint with the judiciary.
