(ANSAmed) - ISTANBUL, AUG 11 - Starting in March 2023, Turkey will begin to use natural gas reserves recently found in the Black Sea, Anadolu quoted Energy Minister Fatih Donmez as saying on Thursday.

"We are creating an energy hub at a depth of 2,200 meters in the Black Sea," Donmez added, mentioning an underwater gas pipeline that is currently 120 km long and which is expected to be completed after the addition of 50 more km.

Since 2020, Turkey has conducted explorations near the Black Sea coast, which has led to the discovery of 540 billion cubic meters of natural gas. (ANSAmed).
