Israel rejects Lebanon's changes to gas agreement

'We don't accept compromises on security, economy', Lapid

    (ANSAmed) - TEL AVIV, OCTOBER 6 - Israel has rejected "changes" proposed by Lebanon over a possible US-mediated agreement on maritime borders between the two countries and the exploitation of gas fields, the office of Premier Yair Lapid announced. Lapid ordered the Israeli negotiating team to reject "changes of content which Lebanon would like to make to the accord", it said. Lapid stressed that "Israel will not accept any compromise on its security and economic interests even if it means that the no agreement" is reached "in the immediate future". (ANSAmed)
