(ANSAmed) - ROME, MAY 17 - Greece has this year once again
earned second place in the world after Spain in the 2022
rankings of Blue Flags, an eco-label awarded to beaches,
marinas, and sustainable boating tourism operators.
Some 581 of Greece's beaches, 15 tourist ports, and six tourism operators got the prestigious label.
The abundant greenery in the Halkidiki peninsula in northern Greece got the lion's share at the national level with 96 blue flags, followed by Athens (Attica prefecture), Crete and Rhodes.
Greece holds 4,194 Blue Flags, some 14% at the world level as concerns beaches.(ANSAmed).
