The Community as a Utopia ".
The exhibition, which will remain open at the Palais de la Culture Moufdi Zakaria in Algiers until December 31, is organized into four major thematic sections: Factory, Culture and Image, City and Politics, Society. Each section is developed in an interdisciplinary key and illustrated with a great variety of graphics, original documents and reproductions.
The exhibition, created by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the MAXXI Foundation and the Adriano Olivetti Foundation, is curated by Pippo Ciorra for the MAXXI and by Francesca Limana and Matilde Trevisani for the Adriano Olivetti Foundation, and avails itself of the contribution of Olivetti SpA (main sponsor) and Translated (additional sponsor).
The materials of the exhibition mainly come from the archives of the Adriano Olivetti Foundation and from the Olivetti Historical Archive Association.
Adriano Olivetti succeeded in creating a new and unique factory experience in the world after the Second World War on the basis of the principle according to which it is possible to create a balance between social solidarity and profit.
Therefore, the workers of Olivetti lived in better conditions than the other large Italian factories: they received higher wages and had kindergartens and houses available near the factory. (ANSA).
