One person was killed and another six
injured in a pile-up involving two lorries and a car on the A1
Milan-Naples motorway near Modena Thursday night.
The victim was one of the truck drivers.
The motorway was closed in the direction of Bologna for several
hours, and water was distributed to vehicle occupants.
It was reopened in the late morning with 15km tail-backs in the
southern direction.
In the pile-up one of the lorries overturned and spilled its
cargo of bleach onto the motorway.
