Tickets for La Scala's premiere on
December 7 have sold out, the iconic Milanese opera house said
Wednesday.
The tickets for Verdi's Macbeth, conducted by Riccardo Chailly
and produced by Davide Livermore, sold out in a few hours, it
said, including the most expensive 3,000 euro tickets.
The tickets went on sale at 10 am and were all snapped up by
early afternoon.
After last year's COVID-enforced suspension of the gala event on
St Ambrose's Day, when the opera house broadcast a concert of
international stars on Rai1, this year it will return in person
with a cast including Luca Salsi and Anna Netrebko.
