Child labour harms human dignity,
Pope Francis said Friday.
Francis told participants at an international conference in the
Vatican that child labour "is exploitation of children in the
productive processes of the globalized economy to the advantage
of other people's profits and gains.
"It is a negation of children's rights to health, education, and
harmonious growth, which includes also the possibility of
playing and dreaming.
"This is tragic: a child who cannot play, who cannot dream,
cannot grow.
"It is stealing the future of children and therefore of humanity
itself".
