Bulgaria: count completed, populists win, with 24.08%
Borissov's conservatives at 23.5%. Six parties in parliament
14 July, 18:09In the second place, slightly behind, comes the conservative party GERB led by former premier Boyko Borissov, who had remained in power for almost ten years, which received 23.51% of the vote. The Socialist BSP party, the GERB's primary opponent, totaled 13.39%. Another three political forces exceeded the 4% threshold and entered the unicameral parliament with 240 seats: the 'Democratic Bulgaria' party (right), with 12.64%, the party of the Turkish minority DPS, with 10.71%, and the 'On your feet! Criminals out!' party led by former Ombudsman Maya Manolova (independent), with 5.01%. The final results and the distribution of seats should be made official within four days after the election day, that is, by tomorrow. (ANSA).
