Migrants: Croatia launch task force to investigate violence

After new video show masked persons beating refugees at border

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, OCT 7 - The Croatian Police Directorate has formed a task force that will investigate violences against migrants allegedly committed on the border between Croatia and Bosnia, local media reported today. The decision comes after new videos emerged showing masked persons hitting migrants and pushing them back from Croatia to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the regional television N1 reported. The men hit them with batons used by riot police and wore uniforms used by the police forces in Croatia, media claimed. The footage, shot in June, is part of a journalistic investigation in which also the Croatian television RTL took part, together with Lighthouse Reports, a investigative journalistic network, the Swiss SRF Rundschau, the German ARD, the French Liberation, the Dutch Pointer, the Croatian Novosti, and the German weekly Der Spiegel.
