Autovie Venete, tourism, red and black dot calendar is ready
The first 'black dot' tomorrow, July 30, critical traffic

(ANSA) - UDINE, 29 LUG - There are four black dots (critical
traffic) days along the highway network managed by Autovie
Venete between Fvg and Veneto: Saturday, July 30, the first day
of the significant summer exodus; Saturday, August 6; Saturday,
August 20; and Saturday, August 27. In addition, there will be
eight red days (heavy traffic): Sunday, July 31; Friday, August
5, Sunday, August 7; Saturday, August 13; Friday, August 26 and
Sunday, August 28; and Saturday, September 3 and Sunday,
September 4.
The dot calendar was announced today by Autovie Venete at a joint press conference with the Fvg Polizia Stradale held in Palmanova.
"A single black dot day is equivalent for Autovie Venete to the deployment of about 200 people," announced the company's manager Davide Sartelli, who was joined at the press conference by Paolo Di Domenico, Commander Polizia Stradale del Fvg, and Gianluca Romiti, Commander Centro Operativo Autostradale. "In recent months," Sartelli announced, "we have also intensified signage, especially near the construction sites of the third lane, there where the biggest problems for traffic flows can occur. The company," he added, "is doing its part to ensure safety, but everyone's cooperation is needed, with compliance with the rules for safe driving." Since the beginning of the summer season, flows are even higher than in 2019, the year preceding the pandemic crisis, with 8 million 405,000 vehicles transited from June 1 to July 24, up 0.96 percent compared to 2019 and up 5.28 percent compared to 2021. Furthermore, the A4 Trieste-Venice motorway confirms its vocation as a "tourism highway," recording in the same period a boom in exits at the Latisana toll booth serving the seaside resorts of Lignano (Udine) and Bibione (Venice), equal to + 21.81% compared to 2019.
The Fvg Traffic Police outlined the activities carried out by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Traffic Police Department from June to July 2022 on the networks managed by Autovie Venete, Autostrade per l'Italia, and Anas, ensuring the overall coverage of 400 km of highway sections. There were 240 accidents detected, including 1 with a fatal outcome and 34 involving vehicles over 3.5 tons, and 4,670 violations ascertained, including 255 to vehicles over 3.5 tons, 800 drivers "checked" with breathalyzers, two people arrested, and 60 reported to the judicial authorities.
