The "Piccolo" Animation Festival starts in Friuli

Over 80 animated shorts will be screened,lifetime award to Altan

(ANSA) - SAN VITO AL TAGLIAMENTO, OCT 27 - The 15th edition of the "Piccolo" (small) Animation Festival, the event dedicated to illustration and auteur animation organized by the association Viva Comix, was presented in St. Vito al Tagliamento (Pordenone) today. From November 12 to 20, over 80 animated shorts, selected among more than 700 submitted from all over the world, will be screened in San Vito but also at Pordenone's Cinemazero, Udine's Visionario, the Ariston Cinema in Trieste, the Kinemax in Gorizia, Staranzano and Portogruaro (Venice).

Short films from Estonia, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Poland, Czech Republic, Ukraine, and Russia, as well as from Japan, China, the United States, Argentina, France, Germany, England, and Portugal, address themes related to interpersonal relationships, investigate the relationship between humans and the environments that surround us, with the capacity for reflection and imagination that open up new and unexpected looks.

Among the special events, in addition to the presentation of the Award for Lifetime Achievement to Altan in his hometown of San Vito, also include meetings with authors, exhibitions, workshops, DJ sets, and special events such as the screening of EST (Sex Education of Trieste), a tribute to "Comizi d'amore" ('Love Meetings') by Pier Paolo Pasolini.
