Germany: CSU pro-Laschet, '100% of our support'

(ANSA) - BERLIN, AUG 26 - Armin Laschet can rely on 100% of
consent from the CSU". So the Bavarian leader Markus Soeder said
today in Munich, using words that rule out any doubt over the
candidate for chancellor of the German conservatives ahead of
the vote scheduled for September 26. The Bavarian
minister-president said that his former rival, now ranked last
in the polls, "will be a strong chancellor." To those who asked
whether a potential change of the Union candidate (CDU-CSU) for
the chancellery could be conceivable, he replied that "the game
is over, the posters have already been affixed," therefore, the
conservatives will not change. (ANSA).
