Balkan economies to face turbulent period: World Bank

Due to sharp increase in food and energy prices

25 October, 17:11
(ANSA) - BELGRADE, OCT 25 - The Western Balkans' economies continue to face a turbulent external environment, putting households, firms, and governments under acute stress, according to the World Bank, which presented the region's latest economic updates. The Ukraine conflict, as well as the resulting sharp rise in energy prices and slowing of global growth, is weighing on economic performance in all six economies. Inflation has reached levels not seen in many years as a result of rising energy and food prices. (ANSA).
