Autovie (North East Italy), 340 thousand vehicles over weekend

19 August, 09:17
(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 19 AGO - About 340,000 vehicles will transit on the Autovie Venete network over the weekend, between exodus and counter-exodus. In particular, tomorrow will be a "black dot" Saturday as a result of the last vacation departures (especially in the morning in the direction of Lisert) and the first returns from summer destinations (especially in the afternoon entering the barrier).

Returns that will also be felt on Sunday - red dot - especially from late afternoon. Attention is also paid, especially on Saturday, to the A23/A4 from Udine Sud in the direction of the Palmanova Node and to the westbound carriageway (direction Venice) where the greatest volume of traffic will be concentrated due also to the return of Eastern European workers from their countries of origin. A total of almost 60 thousand vehicles are expected to enter Trieste's Lisert over the weekend and more than 30 thousand to leave. In Latisana there will be 50 thousand incoming and outgoing vehicles, in a "turnover of vacationers" typical of this part of the season, to which must be added the "sea commuters." As always happens in the case of "black dot", Autovie will employ about 200 people between route managers/executors, maintenance workers, user assistants on duty at station yards, operators of technological systems, radio room, traffic auxiliaries, infomobility operators, health rescue. Heavy vehicles will be banned from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday 20 and from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday 21. Autovie recommends keeping a safe distance from those in front; respecting speed limits (80 kilometers per hour for light vehicles and 60 for heavy vehicles in the section of construction sites); and not using electronic devices and smartphones when driving, and reminds people to inform themselves about traffic at www.infoviaggiando.it, downloading the infoviaggiando app or calling 800 996099.
