Covid: Sebastiani (CNR), growth in three-quarters of Europe

An exponential increase in Greece, Denmark, and Holland

15 July, 13:55
(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 15 - In about three European countries (Greece, Denmark, and the Netherlands) out of four, the incidence of SarsCoV2 virus cases is "growing exponentially," whereas in the UK, the slowdown in growth, which the country had been recording for ten days, stopped three days ago, as it had already happened a few weeks ago. The mathematician Giovanni Sebastiani, an analyst at the 'Mauro Picone' Institute for Calculation Applications of the National Research Council (CNR-IAC), reported.

Denmark records an exponential growth in incidence, with the increases doubling in about eight days, "but it takes another seven days for a more reliable estimate," the expert pointed out.

In Greece, the increases double in about six days. The Netherlands recorded a "progressive increase compared to the previous day, with a doubling of the increase in two days, even if the authorities have recorded a decrease in the last three days." In ten countries, the incidence is in a very slow or early growth phase. The list includes Albania, Bosnia, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Kosovo, Germany, Moldova, Turkey, Macedonia, and Serbia, whereas the incidence is decreasing very slowly in Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Slovakia, and Ukraine.
