(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 21 AGO - Ukrainian authorities have brought dozens of Russian vehicles destroyed in the fighting -- tanks, armored cars, trucks and more -- to downtown Kiev, making them an attraction for citizens. Photos and footage went viral on social media, picked up by various international media outlets, including Britain's Daily Mail.

Entire families poured into central Khreshchatyk Street.

Children climbed onto burned tanks and out-of-service guns, with parents taking pictures of them. A smaller number of destroyed Russian vehicles were shown earlier on Mykhailivskyi Square. The parade of enemy vehicles comes on the eve of Ukraine's August 24 independence celebrations. Celebrations for which gatherings have been banned amid fears of a missile launch on the capital, local media report. (ANSA).
