Croatia: CoE, judiciary composed mainly of women

(ANSA) - STRASBOURG, 05 OTT - Women make up the majority of the Croatian judiciary, according to CEPEJ, the Council of Europe body that evaluates the efficiency of judicial systems in member countries. Data emerged from its latest report on 2020.

Among judges, women make up 71 percent, while among prosecutors, they are 68 percent, compared to a pan-European average of 62 and 52 percent, respectively. Moreover, this female dominance persists even at the highest levels, where 54 percent of court heads are women, increasing to 68 percent for prosecutors' offices. (ANSA).
