(ANSA) - STRASBOURG, 05 OTT - Montenegro spent over 39 million euros on justice in 2020, or 64.02 euros per inhabitant, a figure "close to the average" of Council of Europe countries.

Moreover, the government allocates 0.80 percent of its gross domestic product to justice, more than the average of other states, which is 0.30 percent, which is also the highest percentage among states that, like Montenegro, have a per capita GDP below 10 thousand euros. These figures are contained in the latest report issued by the CEPEJ, the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice, a body of the Council of Europe, which takes a snapshot of the 46 member states in 2020.
