G7 condemns Russia's 'irresponsible nuclear rhetoric'

'Coordination mechanism' to repair Ukraine infrastructure

04 November, 15:11
(ANSA-AFP) - MUNSTER, NOV 4 - The G7 on Friday expressed concern over Russian President Vladimir Putin's recent comments on nuclear weapons and said any use of such arms would be met with "severe consequences". "Russia's irresponsible nuclear rhetoric is unacceptable," the G7 foreign ministers said in a statement after two days of talks in the German city of Muenster.

The G7 has agreed a new structure to help funnel aid to Ukraine to help it rebuild infrastructure targeted by Russia, the group's foreign ministers said in a statement Friday. "Today we establish a G7 coordination mechanism to help Ukraine repair, restore and defend its critical energy and water infrastructure," the ministers said after meeting in the western city of Muenster.
