Premier Giorgia Meloni's cabinet on
Tuesday is set to approve a package of measures for the world of
work, including incentives for firms to employ young people,
women and other groups who are at a disadvantage on the labour
market, after presenting them to trade unions on Monday.
The incentives will come in the form of reductions in
social-security payments for two years.
The package, nicknamed the May Day decree as it is set to be
approved before the national holiday dedicated to workers, will
also include a tax bonus worth 100 euros that employees earning
up to 28,0000 euros a year with at least one child will get in
their pay packets January.
