Prosecco: EU to give the green light to Prosek.Lega protests
Commission declares Croatian application admissible.

(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, 13 SET - The European Commission will
proceed with the publication in the EU Official Journal of the
Croatian authorities' application to register the traditional
term "Prosek," the EU Executive responded to an urgent question
from Lega MEP Mara Bizzotto.
"Faced with this crazy decision of the EU - reads a statement issued by Bizzotto - we are ready to take to the barricades to defend by any means necessary the Made in Italy Prosecco because it must be clear to all that the only real Prosecco is the one produced in our country." "In the next two months, which are the deadline to submit appeals and objections before the EU's final decision - Bizzotto added - we members of the Lega and all our territories will carry out a battle to defend the typicality and quality of our Prosecco and the work of thousands of companies."
