Bosnia: save our country against divisions

Bosnian associations demonstrate in Rome

10 January, 15:43
(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 10 - The citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Italy and their Italian friends express their concern for the worrying signals coming from the region.

After the Dayton Accords of 1995, under the auspices of the United States to end the cruelest war in Europe after 1945, Bosnia and Herzegovina have maintained a fragile balance, now severely compromised by the criminal irresponsible behavior of local leaders. These leaders tend to exacerbate the nationalistic fracture, further disrupting a history and a secular culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence between the different ethnic and religious components of which the society is composed". Some Bosnian associations based in various cities across Italy wrote in a statement.

Today these associations are demonstrating in Rome in Piazza Holy Apostles. These people are "concerned, regardless of their religious faith or their belonging' and aim at "preserving Bosnia and Herzegovina from further instability and conflicts." (ANSA).
