(ANSA) - BELGRADE, FEB 7 - The currency commission of Croatia
Central Bank (HNB is looking into the allegations that the
proposed design for the Croatian national side of the future one
euro coin, depicting a marten (kuna in Croatian) is identical to
an image taken by the Scottish photograph Iain Leach, local
media reported. Leach told the Croatian media that his
photographs are protected by copyright and may not be used
without permission, the regional television N1 reported.
According to Croatian media, after the scandal, that provoked
controversies in the country, the author of the design of the
1-euro Croatian coin, Stjepan Pranjkovic, sent a letter to the
HNB informing them that he was withdrawing his proposal. (ANSA).
