Inter's Italy defender Francesco
Acerbi on Monday denied issuing a racial slur against Napoli's
Brazilian defender Juan Jesus during a 1-1 draw at the San Siro
Sunday.
"Racist phrases from my mouth have never come out. That's the
only thing I can say. I know I've never said racist phrases,
I've been playing football for 20 years and I know what I'm
saying. My conscience is clear", said Acerbi on arrival in Milan
after being dropped by Italy for this week's friendlies in the
US against Venezuela and Ecuador because of the slur allegation.
It had been reported in some sectors that Acerbi called Jesus a
negro.
