Health Minister Roberto Speranza said
Thursday that Italy is playing a lead role in the quest to
develop a vaccine for the coronavirus.
"Italy is at the centre of the challenge for a vaccine against
Sars-Cov2," Speranza said via Facebook.
"Today I met the management and the researchers of IRMB, the
Italian company that is working in collaboration with the
University of Oxford on the testing of the vaccine against
COVID-19.
"Only a safe, effective vaccine can take us out of the
emergency.
"That's why Italy's role in the European initiative is
important.
"We are proud of our scientists and of the excellence of Italian
research".
