"For the next winter season, we
must be prepared for possible interruptions" of gas flows from
Russia through Ukraine, with the transit contract between Moscow
and Kiev expiring at the end of the year, "and for this reason
we must increase investments in plants in Germany to ensure
supply to the countries of Central and Eastern Europe," stated
the Czech Republic's Energy Minister, Jozef Sikela, arriving at
the EU Energy Council.
