The international look is remarkable, with the opening dedicated to Ukrainian writer Andrei Kurkov, who is premiering his new novel "Gray Bees". From France in revolt will come a strong lineup of voices: Laurent Mauvignier, Philippe Forest, Lydie Salvayre, Michel Bussi, and Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt, with the first Italian presentation of his latest reflection in which an unpublished letter from Pope Francis is enshrined. Nobel Prize-winning author Annie Ernaux will receive the Crédit Agricole Prize for "History in a Novel" on Sept. 16.
The festival is a truly global event and will be attended, among others, by André Aciman, R.J. Palacio, Gila Almagor, Nguyễn Phan Quế Mai, Nino Haratischwili, Robert Perišić, Ramin Bahramihers. The long list of renowned authors with their new books includes Michela Marzano, Emanuele Trevi, Viola Ardone, Paolo Di Paolo, Corrado Augias, Massimo Recalcati, Sandro Veronesi, Edoardo De Angelis, Giancarlo De Cataldo, Antonia Arslan, Ilaria Capua, Piergiorgio Odifreddi.
Many excellent dialogues are a feature of the festival: among the guests are Andrea Molesini and Gianni Biondillo, Romana Petri, Marco Missiroli, Annalena Benini and Mariapia Veladiano, and Enrico Galiano. Also at pordenonelegge is the literary case of the year, author Erin Doom, who has just been revealed on TV.
