Anna Lindh, debate on key role of partnership in EuroMed

On June 29 seventh public dialogue virtual marathon ALF

ROME ANSAcom

The crucial role of partnership and cooperation at different levels in the development of policies and actions on sustainable development in the EuroMed region will be at the center of the online debate "The key role of partnership in intercultural dialogue", scheduled on June 29 as seventh public dialogue of the Virtual Marathon for Dialogue in the EuroMed region promoted by the Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF). The event will be held from 3 to 5 PM on the Zoom platform and will be broadcast live on Facebook. "The new EU agenda for the Mediterranean reiterates that sustainable prosperity and resilience can only be built in strong partnership based on common values and dialogue across the Mediterranean. In this regard, the EU will seek to carry out cooperation through dialogues with all stakeholders, including civil society actors, so that the diversity of interests and needs of all countries of the Southern Neighborhood would be taken into account", said the Anna Lindh Foundation in the presentation of the event. "The Agenda stresses the need for cooperation also at the sub-regional and inter-regional level, and joint initiatives between partner countries. In this vein, evidence from the ALF Intercultural Trends Survey shows that respondents in SEM and European countries recognize the benefits of EuroMed cooperation at the human, scientific, environmental and economic level. Indeed, both country groups appear more assured of the support that NGOs and civil society can obtain of this cooperation". This public event "will highlight that the implementation of the Agenda 2030, the European Green Deal and the Paris agreement requires action at all levels to reach the sustainable development goals. Hence, a multi-level collaboration on global issues and dialogue engagement are crucial in the development of policy and actions on sustainable development".
